MIG / MAG / TIG – Welding - Ticino
_____
In Ticino we carry out metal welding services for the account of a third party, using the MIG, MAG and TIG technologies which are characterized by their high precision and which guarantee the necessary robustness and longevity of the tooled products.
Welding is a procedure aiming at creating a junction which realizes cohesion of the material between two metal pieces to be brought together. The result of such proceding is the so-called “welded joint”, or simply called “soldering”. Thanks to its solidity and a century of experience gathered in this field, Poretti Gaggini is the company to turn to in Ticino for sheet metal processing, particularly for the process of welding.
Modern factury buildings and a fleet of advanced machinery enable Poretti Gaggini to manage any type of welding with materials such as aluminium, steel and iron, at the same time assuring the customer short delivery terms and maintaining a record excellence in quality.

___
Poretti Gaggini carries out in Ticino authorized welding operations under quality certification, making use of various technological procedures, based on the functional requirements of the product and possibly upon the customer's specific requirements.
Each one of the welding techniques renders different results both from the aesthetical and the characteristic point of view with reference to efficiency retaining quality, cost and working hours.
The metal welding techniques most called for are:
TIG-welding: this is the method most in use. The abbreviation TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) indicates a kind of arc-welding of the metals which is done by using a gas and which allows heating up and melting together two metal sheets, with or without additonal material. TIG-welding consents to obtaining resistant joints, especially with components of reduced thickness. These, in order to obtain good results, need several passings of TIG-welding.
MIG/MAG-welding: this is the most economical welding procedure because the machinery necessary to carry out this work are really not expensive. Like in TIG-welding, the use of an inert gas is required in the MIG process and is active in the MAG process, but, different from the metal welding described above, here we talk about continuous-thread-welding. This features makes it an excellent method in cases where high productivity is required, but the result is less resistent and less “nice” from the aesthetic point of view than the one obtained from TIG-welding.
